Earlier today, like many people, I saw the headline from CNN that read "Runner dies in marathon trials" and clicked the link.
Me, for a different reason that most. Last month we put the finishing touches on a podcast featuring a runner preparing for these Olympic trials.
When I got the page and saw that the name of the fallen runner was Ryan Shay, my heart sank.
I didn't personally know Ryan or his family but what I learned from producing the podcast was that he was a dedicated runner that had one goal in mind and that was the being on the Olympic team. Best wishes and condolences to his family friends.
