Lisa Gaumond posted a very flattering and interesting take on podcast and radio listenership today. Sure I paid attention because Croncast seemed to be the impetus for the post but I think she wonderfully describes our ability to create fantastic worlds for ourselves in our minds. So there's that, and in her world I have hair.
It got me to thinking about other shows that I listen to and what changed for me when I didn't have my mental picture of the host anymore but a real visage to reconnoiter.
HOLY CRAP! If I actually thought you guys would have read that, I might have apoligized for sounding shocked at the way you two looked! I'm glad you took it all in the good way I meant it. You guys are great. I'm about to hop in my car and listen to Monday's podcast on the way to work - can't wait. And thanks for sending traffic to my blog! I'll have to cut you a commission if I get any illustration jobs from it. Have a great day!
Kris reads everything. And after my over-reaction to Fricks comment, your post came at the right time for me to think about what it means to be online. Being, in the sense that we really put ourselves out there.
What is great though is that you were honest about interaction with us, the voices and the photo. Though we are a bit red in the photo.
The gist for me seems to be that it was a great place to start a conversation. And besides look at the photo on the right and tell me that the white scribbles on my face doesn't make you think of me as a grey old man ;-).
