it doesn't mean a whole lot, it's just a number. more of a milestone i guess. now i must ponder the signficance . . . |

oh -- i didnt mean to make you doubt or ponder or whatever -- i was trying to be funny. I know you are a geek and I am totally computer NOT savvy but I think you guys are awesome. And this number means that at least 900,000 other people are at curious enough about your awesomeness to give ya a listen -- right? |

i'm with you anne. but it's much less exciting than that. the number i referenced is a total of hits on the feeds minus the people who use our feedburner feed. most feed readers hit the hit about 5 times a day and others do more often like say bloglines who hits once an hour!
this is gonna get real nerdy . . . the real tally that means something is the unique people based on ip address and aggregator. we currently average 348 on those and about 430 on feedburner. some of those are probably duplicates, most i bet. so i combine the uniques of the new feeds with those from feedburner and we are at about 485.
but i do also track site downloads and there are about 75-125 of those per show that are unique.
this is getting messy. numbers are crazy and most likely do hold no significance other than to satiate my mind. |
