What I Know About Tweeting Flickr Photos

Most of you know that I am a stats junkie and for those that don't, well, it is now out of the way.

I wanted to share some stats about Twittering Flickr photos. I started tracking these tweets in Nov. 2007 and finally thought I had enough data that it made sense to put the numbers together.

If you don't know what the hell I am talking about check out this blog post.

Here's what I got for you so far:

152 - Photos tweeted
1,979 - Click throughs from Twitter, mobile and web
480 - Unique ip's that clicked through
12.9 - Avg. number of clicks per photo
4.1 - Avg. number of times a unique user clicked through

These animals will kill you

Santa guides his sleigh with them but according to WSB TV in Atlanta:

"Deer kill about 150 people a year in the United States."

This is serious! I had no idea. I need to arm myself or avoid the vermin at all cost.

Then I read the next sentence:

"But most of those deaths happen when deer are involved in collisions with automobiles."

Their new investigative report has begun - Tonight at 10, Killer deer that aren't mesmerized by your headlights, they want your blood.

For me, writing like this attached to stories of horrific events makes me place a lower value on what is put out my news organizations. Maybe next time a statistic about farming related fatalites? It could get wordsmithed I guess into, "Tractors kill or maim over 1,000 farmers a year."

Good work local MSM! Keep that fear coming. Now where did I put that doe urine?

Atlanta is a hockey town?

I am still a little freaked out that Atlanta has this many hockey fans. It was 70 degrees here two days ago.

Staying awake en route to PodCamp Atlanta

It's a travel morning . . . 4:45 a.m. and I'm fighting to stay awake on my way to the airport. What a better way than to try to post from a cell phone in the back seat?

I'm heading to Atlanta for PodCamp today and tomorrow. Oh, all the nerding out I'm going to do.
