Current TV + FeedBurner = Ebay Auctions?

Hellooooo, Current TV, is anyone home?

Your main RSS feed has been hijacked, hacked or you simply decided not to use it anymore and another FeedBurner user picked up your user name.

What does that mean?

Starting yesterday at about 2 pm a flurry of new updates came through your main RSS feed. The problem is that all the updates are of auctions for Ebay items on Ebay UK.

The funny part is that the new burned feed is an Ebay affiliate RSS feed. Some joker has access to your entire subscriber base and is now hocking items on Ebay.

In the meantime, someone at Current who looks at stats, and wonders why your FeedBurner RSS referrals are down 100 percent from your feed, it is because something is severely wrong.

Betsy's Auction Haul

For those of you following yesterday's live photo blogging of the auction, this post is for you.

It was so cold in the machine shed where the auction was held yesterday that I couldn't type anymore on my phones little keypad.

For those of you wondering what a machine shed is, it is a corrugated sheet metal building most usually white held up by two-by-fours where farmers park the implements.

Betsy's items above are 5 Dept. 56 villiage items and one Longaberger basket. I know nothing of this stuff.

All of these should double or triple Betsy's investment in them and add a couple bucks to the grocery/life funds.

And talk with Thom (he seemed like Thom with an 'h') just like the dealership instructed me to. Not specifically to Thom with an 'h' but someone in customer care at Volvo of North America.

Turns out that Thom can't help us out! Imagine that. He said this is a "dealership" issue. However, he'll call the dealership on our behalf. Awesome!

BTW, for the full rundown listen to tomorrow's show . . .because, well, Thom with an 'h' got Kria with a 'k' fired up. Gems like this, I have to paraphrase since I don't have a recording or transcript from the call but about 15 minutes into the 19 minute conversation I am told that because we don't want another Volvo that helping us out "isn't mutually beneficial" and that there will be little they can do beyond honor the warranty. I guess that beyond the money already paid to them for the car, there needs to be more in it for Volvo.

Here's the deal, we are not asking for a full refund. That would be unreasonable. We have driven the car and understand depreciation of value. What we are asking and have asked for from the Volvo of Lisle is a fair price on the car, which, in this case includes a bump in consideration of all the problems it has had. What the car would sell for at auction, a place where normal folks couldn't buy a car if they wanted without a friend in the auto industry, isn't a fair price.

It is the Croncast 2 year anniversary! Read on for reason of lack of show notes.

This sucks . . . I blew away the show notes by closing the tab after typing them in and not submitting. Firefox should ask if I really want to close the tab instead of just doing it. This sucks.

Betsy tells her auction story, possibly a classic and we also talk about what we're going to do for the group home kids. So we are going to be doing a donation drive for them. I will have some more posts and set up a process for promoting it but it will be later. Got lots of information about the organization but check out their site for more Childserv.org.
