i told you folks the honest truth on the show that a bag of quickcrete, used tire, top 10 feet of a TV antanae and a Wal-Mart basketball hoop were my gravel driveway pride.

this remnant stands as a testament to this story. i had forgotten that we had written our names in it. check out that sweet "Kyle".

How about those musical transitions?

In response last night to a comment from CaptRespect:

"First musical segways, next commercials! It's the end of croncast as we know it!"

I left this:

Yikes! I can stop that one right quick. It's not the end of the show as you know it!

After testing out the transitions for a week I've grown tired of doing them and have found in my case, as the producer, they really don't add anything. I would venture to say that they are taking something away.

All that they really prove is that I can work a non-linear editor. Big whoop.

What I was trying to do was give Croncast some of the same treatment that I give client work. I was taking my time, listening to the entire show, looking for awkward phrasing, mic pops and all kinds of other stuff I have never done with our show.

CaptRespect, I feel your concern . . . and actually shared it this morning as I was putting together today's show. If we were putting the show out once a week and I could dedicate a good 10-12 hours to editing then I think the transitions would stay. I don't think they quite follow our show form.

But either way, if they stay or if they go, at least I tried something new with the show.

Pocast Academy 5 off to a good start

The academic podcast hoopla has kicked off. So much so that I don't want to put my headphones on to get show notes done and stand out. It's like being in class. Except I can pass notes, so to speak. :-)

There's a pretty good turnout here of academics. It reminds me of the old days working in higher ed or producing NCQ Talk.
