What Just Happened?

Life is show prep takes on a whole new meaning when it pertains to me going renegade as Mr. Mom. Creating a lunch for the five year old from Dr. Pepper and popcorn takes skill, a blind eye to nutrition and nod to my own childhood desires. Making memories here, people!

Along this line of reckoning, as Betsy was starting her corporate groove, her day was filled with all things new. Maybe not new, but after a decade of kicking it with our progeny, this transition is refreshing.

My experience, her experience . . . a day without a show it brings. For this we are both sorry. We were wiped out at the end of the day and didn't bring the goods.

Tomorrow, we'll bring the goods. And this weekend, we'll bring a special delivery of the goods for weekend laughter.

No. Maggie. You can't give the cat Dr. Pepper!

Hey guys, pretty sure you figured this one out but there is no show for today. Things around casa de Smith have been pretty nuts since Monday and for the immediate future it will probably continue.

With that said, you can expect a Friday show to follow Betsy's opening night at the Comedy Shrine here in Naperville. I'm sure it will follow our example of 'life is show prep'.

Their lucky they got all that expensive equipment between them while their doing the show. In the future I see bullet proof glass..... LOL Just kidding. The show length is perfect, spot on, no waste on predetermined montages or business or reader mail or anything that's just filler to try and get a longer show. about 30 minutes or less is PERFECT. They're both Hilarious (a little respect for the Bear).

I think that's what RSS is for, but I haven't had the time to mess around with it to figure it out. So my new friend solved his puzzle
Some people weren't catching on

They were giving stage direction
People start falling by the wayside
Then they throw round two at us with a written test

I made it to the third round

Then we introduced ourselves

The whole room died laughing

Life is show prep when you own a Volvo, I mean a Ford

Sooooo, Kris thought to himself . . . I mean myself, that I would be cool and do something nice for Betsy. Like I could stop by Volvo of Lisle, the new temporary home for her car and talk to them about the state of her V70 wagon and give her some good news like it has been fixed or that we guarantee that 3/4 of an inch of water will never pour out from under the dash on the driver's side again.

I suppose I should have been talking to the techs instead of a finance guy, a manager and a sales man to get an answer for that. But I knew the car wouldn't be finished since we didn't hear back plus the fact that when we arrived they told us that they were overbooked by 60 appointments for today.

Mosquito eggs will be hatching in the meantime. This may be the most expensive larva nest/ant farm in history. Hopefully the high water mark won't damage the resale value. Something Betsy knows all about.

This was the point tonight they would step up to the plate and work with us. However, that would be to easy! I was told to call customer service, "It might take two weeks but eventually you'll talk to the right person."

Like I have time for this, not only do you have my car but I want to spend hours on hold waiting for someone to tell me that they can't help us out and I have to get upset and ask for a manager. At that point they then tell us that they don't really work for Volvo of North America they are just at a call center in Idaho.

This was, of course was after he mentioned that I might want to pursue the lemon law. I promptly redirected that path of reasoning as a remedy for a car that has been in for repair SIX times in 5200 miles of its existence. Towed in for two of those repair trips. We both know the lemon law means a bunch of expenses on my end and a high likely hood that there will be a pretty unsatisfactory ending to the story of our Ford station wagon.

Well, I gotta run laptop needs juice and I am tired. More to come later this week but expect a recap on our first show back this Monday April 2nd.

Oh yeah, "Is there anyone that I can call to shorten this process?" says Kris. "No. Just call customer care," Mr. Sales. "You guys don't have a name?" asks Kris. "I don't work with them," Mr. Sales.

You would think we bought the car from Volvo of North America.

The September 1st show yet to exist

Amigos, following our 'life is show prep' model, Betsy was at puppy training class from 7 to nearly 11 last night. And as I type this she is making that awful 'aaah aaah' noise to tell the doggy he's bad.

Regardless of this morning's 6:30 a.m. drama we will have today's show up a this afternoon.

It's been a while since we missed a night and had a show go up late in the day but it will be worth it to hear about puppy class, some kids who think Slowsky is a semi truck and from a guy who had his first fork full of Chinese food in college (while trying to find a wife).

So if you are a new listener and want something to listen to feel free to hit up our hidden archive page for some Croncast. And if you are behind on shows you'll never know the difference.
