Betsy likes the amens to her sermons
Now they can tell me to mow my lawn
We are way more boring than the show
The picture in her head of you was repulsive
Good thing she didn't see a real picture
I despise this time of year the most
Why?
The grass grows
I hate the mowing
Pulling back that shade for bits of sunlights
I am the Boo Radley of the neighborhood
I have been honing my skills without you
Something new to the Resale Queen toolbox
Not the Billy Squire stroke
A body bag full of bubble wrap
A body bag?
I tried to do a Penny Drop
That was for those of you that too kindergarten gymnastics
Tetanus shot for junking license
I had to have the bubble wrap
So I went to Goodwill
Fast like a bunny
I bought a Titleist
Golf club
We playing gold today mommy?
Yes, Maggie, dumpster golf
Your Titleist for dumpster diving
Your like a gorilla in the mist
Your people were the strain that hung on the jungle floor
Mine were smarter and more motivated
Now, I bring home the bananas
It's all about who brings home the bacon
I am forever grateful that you make enough for me to dig in a dumpster
We found your wife, sir.
Behind what store?
It could be worse, I could be a scrap booker
It is a services
I'm not going to mess with these women
They are serious
Treating things better
Betsy flattens a tire on my car
I'm driving slow on your rim
You were right next to the car dealership
Why didn't you just go there?
You used to recruit truck drivers, you talk to him
Sorry to be so vaginal
I just gave up
Why is he trying to change the tire?
Does he know how to change a tire?
Yeah, that's a lot of money for a fancy hood
They say that to a lot of women who get labia surgery too

Betsy picked up the art glass shade above at Goodwill over the weekend for $.50.
It looks great in the kitchen and it fit the IKEA light fixture perfectly.
I need to ask her if she was talking to the Secret for that to happen.
In my best judgment I have decided not to deluge you with daily updates as I continue my grass growing experiment.

Days 2-4 have been pretty un-eventful. There has been no germination as I suspected and I am following the same process that I did for the other other barren patches.

Day 2 regular watering in am and pm.

Day 3 overnight rain and early afternoon precipitation. I busted out the Scotts Lawn Fertilizer as a catalyst for germination and doused Material #1 and Material #2 equally.

Day 4 (today) I performed the same activity of watering but at 12 pm followed by raking Material #1 into the soil. Once raked throughly I then watered both Material #1 and #2. The next step was to sow more of the same brand seed (Material #1) on top of the first sowing. This was the same action taken with the other barren patches except that I put seed on Material #2. Thus, the reason for this experiment. Today I used the little green implement thing to fling the seeds instead of tossing them by hand. Finally, I gave it another watering.

Photos follow in sequence.

Raked and ready for second sowing.

Looks like a Scotts ad but it is what I have handy.

As most of you know, I am a lawn hater. I am a man allergic to lawnmowers and weed whackers.

After much ado around here about the lawn I have been forced to attempt to grow grass in some bare spots around the yard. Over the next few weeks I will be experimenting with a new area of the yard, posting photos and commenting on, well, watching grass grow.

The impetus for doing this unscientific lawn experiment is that about a month ago in separate barren ares in the yard I threw out two types of grass growing material - seeds and only seeds (Material #1) in one area and in the other some super fancy patch filling mulch, seed, fertilizer stuff (Material #2) - and one of the grass growing materials appeared to outperformed the other. I say "appeared" because after 3 weeks of watching Material #2 bleach in the sun and lose its pretty blue hue I threw grass seed all over it and by the end of the week I had patchy grass growth. I say it was the seeds and Betsy says that it was the magic of Material #2.

Of course, there are other reasons for the experiment like that I don't really care if I have two different shades, lengths or blade widths of grass next to one another, as some green grass nuts might.

So now I have a rather large area in my yard dedicated to watching the grass drag race to the sun it a fight for survival (it is my yard, it will die in future). I mean compare how Material #1 and Material #2 perform under the same conditions and with equal sunlight and water, as equal as an unscientific can be.

Here's the breakdown:

Material #1 - Scotts Turf Builder grass seed (the Spring Seeding Mix variety). Hey, Betsy is gone and I have the kids and have to get Elliot off to school. Show notes after I drop the man.

Oh yeah, to understand the photo for today's show you'll have to listen to the show.
We are going to do a live show here in Naperville . . . hopefully in July. We'd like to get about 40 people to come out so we can have the joint for about 2 hours. That means you need to get your friends to come out too. Let us know if you can swing it.
