this place has seen better days, but all before 1994 when the store was mothballed.

enjoy this set of shots from a store that couldn't hold off the changing shopping habits of america and the corporate tidal wave that washed away downtowns around the country.

this bear, in some other shots also, drew me to it.

it was positioned in the window to be child height for those walking by the window on the way in.

buy this bear or else.

i really dug the way that the weathered store window was subtly caught in this shot for an under the glass hue.

maggie was keeping it very real today by asking for her picture to be taken and then refusing to smile for me.

one thing is for sure, if you take lots of shots one of them will turn out.

i had to get some gas and kill some time on my way to pick up betsy and jeanie. so, i decided to stop downtown and take some photos before heading off to the airport. this set is a result of the shots that turned out.

we've lived here for four years and i've never had anything fall in this window well before.

today it has been a bunny and now two toads.

next shot i hope to post is stacks of $100's that fell from the sky into the window well. fingers crossed.

singing backup to the yellow was this blue player.

i mentioned in the other photo post about wondering how the digital camera changed the color of the purple flowers, well, in this shot it was true to life with the blue and yellow in this shot.

i wonder if it could be something in the flower itself and the way it reflects light?

This shot is for Maggie. Baby if you ever question how you asked to be pushed on a swing . . . it was backwards.

But who could pass up such a cute face!

Asked to post this while I lay on the couch. Betsy snapped this shot of Maggie and Zeus a few minutes ago.

I am thinking that Betsy will be trying to pass Zues off as a dogalope soon so that she can get that goat from GRoAN (Goat Rescue of America North).

A dogalope would cement her as crazy and they would give her 50 goats.

This awesome wooden, I guess you call it a statue, was keeping an eye on the collectibles aisle at the resale shop. Where else do you think we would spend a day with Betsy?

Another shot from the other night.

I am still unsure what to think of the meetup. I have never been bullish on Chicago's tech community and this event didn't change that.

For some reason Chicago still tends to lag behind the coasts even with a level playing field called the internet.

I think the culprit is the culture and the industries that employ most of the tech people here like banking and insurance.

Maybe, it is just me and the type of tech community that I am seeking to be a part of. Could be that the coasts and the vibrant innovation that is occurring in the Boulder (yes, I said it) fit me best.

Inside the Boeing 727 at MSI is a miniature fuselage at the back of the plane.

Everytime we have passed it on visits I wanted to get a shot of it. Today was the day.
