Their lucky they got all that expensive equipment between them while their doing the show. In the future I see bullet proof glass..... LOL Just kidding. The show length is perfect, spot on, no waste on predetermined montages or business or reader mail or anything that's just filler to try and get a longer show. about 30 minutes or less is PERFECT. They're both Hilarious (a little respect for the Bear).

If you are making the trip to Vegas for CES 2008 next week I'd like to ask that you do me a favor. You ready?

Maybe it is two favors.

Keep your eyes peeled for:

1) cell phones that have a 5 megapixels or greater camera with a flash and a full QWERTY keypad
2) digital cameras 10+ megapixels that offer evdo, edge, wimax (what have you for connectivity) built in

I know a couple of you will be there and if you see either of these types of products about ping me to let me know if they exist or there is something even cooler along those lines.

In return I will look up to the nights sky and name a star after you. If that won't work then a show shout out and some linkage are in order.

Robowagon - Volvo V70 falling apart again

The Volvo is holding up in true Slowsky curse fashion.

I bumped the mirror with a garbage can and the back of it came flying off.

Could someone please remind me why the dealership and Volvo of North America wouldn't help us out again with this disaster on wheels? Oh yeah, I said that we didn't want another Volvo and they said it's your problem not ours.

Buy not another Volvo I will.

Back on the train heading for the event.

Hoping for some sizzle today . . . no big 'wow' pitches yesterday.

My favorite part of the day was lunch with Chris Brogan and Schlomo Rabinowitz. Thanks to both of them for the great conversation and not kicking my ads for ordering the lamb burger, the only burger on the menu, but an instance where a giant beer can should have fallen from the sky and crushed me.

This is all happening the night before you leave
Thank god the Elk Mountain staff is released early every morning to remove all ticks and flea dip the deer
I will never have a vacation as good as this because I am married to you

I was holed up 30 miles from Boulder in a hotel by the highway
They call themselves suburbs, but they don't know
Working late at night doing the nerd thing
I get to the hotel late

The room smelled musty and like nothing I had smelled before
All this while I have to rationalize hopping into a bed that a lot lizard just has sex with a trucker in
The next morning I wake up and head down to the front desk

I ask to be moved to another room
She reaches into her pocket and pulls cell phone
A roadside motel run by pre-teens
"I can't move you but my mom can. I can call her to come down here."
I rolled on out
I came back the next night and asked to be moved again
We can move you . . . but not for three days
I then get the burrito craving
Qdoba happens to be open right next to the truck stop
You're gonna have to re-wrap that burrito
Why?

This can't be fucking happening
I am going to eat it here and cut it in half

Betsy rolls out in the wagon today

Yes, most of you know that Betsy has decided to repeat the drive to Colorado. That drive, as you might remember it last year involved Slowsky (the eBay van) and John Elway Dodge (now Go Dodge Arapahoe).

So this year Betsy upped the crazy factor arranging a couple of days at Elk Mountain Resort and Valhalla Shooting Club. She's convinced Jeanie they'll spend more time repelling and in nature but I'm sure that Betsy is going to spend more time spending bullets on mannequins.

Hopefully, Slowsky isn't still haunting the Volvo and we can get on with our road travels in peace. Did you sense my optimism?

First of all we need to thank everyone who came out to the show last night! Thanks to everyone who attended and those who become Croncast roadies in the process to help me wrangle gear and toys that littered the stage.

Turns out that we were both a little nervous and it comes through on the show but it was a ton of fun to do. More practice, more better.

Jeff Probst interview, not mine, Tom Green's

I've been getting a lot of searches for "Jeff Probst interview" the past week since my post about the client work with did with Jeff and thought that some of you might be interested in downloading the hour and a half 455mb interview that he did with Tom Green last month.

I'm a fan of Tom Green and dig what he is doing with his show . . . hanging out, having some drinks, call-ins, skype-ins and big name guests in a lo-fi environment (it's Tom, the guest and the tech or two).

With that said, constructive criticism to follow, I'm not a fan of Tom's hired guns' web design, RSS prowess or the podcast consistency. I really like the show and want to see it meet some level of current web proficiency, also known as "nerds that get it".

Problem 1 is that the process of downloading a tom Green show is difficult. Problem 2, symptom of Problem 1, is that shows are streaming or progressive download (pseudo streaming) from the site. Problem 3 is that the RSS link for "Podcast" on the site goes directly to the Tom Green iTunes page . . . in iTunes and not the browser OR the real RSS feed.

Would it be too much to actually link to the RSS feed like this? I think not. My other issue with the RSS feed is that it only includes Apple RSS tags. Which means the display in other programs like FireAnt.tv is sans description or links back to the originating source, a.k.a www.tomgreen.com., where one might find more information about the episode.

Problem 4, the show looks good on Apple TV and the podcast releases are about as consistent as a Golden Girls' bowel movement. The live show is done week nights, when Tom isn't traveling around. The podcasted version takes days, sometimes weeks to show up in the feed. With the live version being semi-consistent the podcasted version should follow, just good form.

Tom, listen to me. Get nerds who can deliver your media and distribute it to the widest possible audience.

Blue Sky Factory picks up RSSFWD

Congratulations to Choon Keat and Blue Sky Factory. In the deal Blue Sky Factory acquires RSSFWD, an RSS to email application with a healthy user base that will augment it's large email offerings to clients.

Greg, owner and founder of Blue Sky Factory has been excited about this for weeks . . . I think he should be, as his company is taking a major step in a new direction that will help to grow his business.

It's good to see friends pumped about their work!
