When I was in high school, it was nothing for a kid to forget that he had gone hunting on Saturday and leave his shotgun in the gun rack of the truck. Instead of going to jail, the principal would just call him to the office and ask him to take it home.
--
I also remember the 'rumors' about the principal's 'electric paddle' -- a myth that kept me in line more than any other rule or regulation...

BETSY I LOVE YOU! YOU ARE SO GREAT AND FUNNY!
(waiting to see how long it takes for her to notice ;) )
also, we had corporal punishment, but I don't know of anyone personally who got beaten - though there were rumors some of the deliquents would get it for acting out. NOT for academic encouragement, though! that's just crazy talk!!!

I believe Mr. B's conspiracy theories. Its really kind of sad..Right now the US is being bought out by foreigners who have cash, its a great time to buy in. In 10 years people are going to wake up and realize 90s not even owned by Americans..I saw a show on 60 minutes, the Arabs own the highways and the ports..Wake up people!!

The school I went to in Texas had a form that parents had to sign at the beginning of the year saying whether or not the school could dole out corporal punishment.
