First, I have to say that it was sweet to hear the old music today. It took me a while to warm up to the new tune, but I'm good with it now. I guess I'm just old school that way.
Anyway, I know you're trying to come up with a name for the new show and it dawned on me - my wife rarely call the show Croncast. To us, it's Kris and Betsy. So, I checked and ChristenBetsy.com is available. I know - it's a corny play on words and I don't expect you to go with it, but that's what the show will always be around our house.
Thanks for 495 fabulous shows!

How about KayBeeToy.com. The toy store went out of business years ago, the url is available. And you guys are like fun adult toy (oh that doesn't) sound right...but you get the drift.

Instead of actually declaring and end to the show, you could just do like the Viva podcast and peter out until you have no listeners left.
Viva-Cron? How's that for a callback?
... I listened for quite a while before I ever started commenting.

i think the new format is going to be great for what we do, hopefully, maintaining listeners and gaining some new ones.

So I'm glad that we finally got the scoop on the new format and can be content knowing that we will still have multiple shows a week. It makes it a lot easier getting threw the work week when I can laugh while I'm churning out code. The new format does confuse me though. It sounds like you are making a lot more work for your selves. More editing time more recording time it just sounds like a pain. Especially when the past few months you've had a hard time finding the time to get the regular show out. Do you think you can find the time for all the extra new work?

How is Greg? Do you know why they quit? Just too busy?
I do have one format suggestion/request. Why not use two feeds (one for the daily show and one for the weekly show)? My guess is most people will want to listen to one or the other, but not both. A 3-day/week podcast is quite a commitment, and it probably stunts your audience to only the most dedicated listeners. A one show/week podcast is much more manageable for most people, and will probably be more popular. Now, personally, I want 3/week (obviously) and would prefer to skip the weekly show, but I don't much like the idea of them being time-shifted by a whole week. BUT, because I don't want the long time-shift, I'd probably subscribe to both. The downside for me, as a listener, is that I will have already heard all the best bits in the weekly; which brings me to the second part of my suggestion: continue to release the 3/week shows as you have been and the weekly show afterwards. That way, your core listeners get their shows without the time shift. The other advantage for you is that (by putting the dailies and the weekly on 2 different feeds) you'll likely save bandwidth because most people will only d/l from one of the feeds.

Okay... I guess that was two suggestions:
1. Use two feeds.
2. Don't time shift my shows!

I think that the new plan, as nice as it might feel to try to deliver polished podcasts, is a bad idea.
1. We love you guys because the show is genuine. Not rehearsed. You're not perfect, and we feel better that we're not perfect.
2. It's going to take many more hours of editing for you, which means you'll either give it up and quit the show, or give it up and go back to the way you do it now anyway.
We love Kris & Betsy as the are. Change the name if you must (I like it as is). Change the release dates if you must. But don't change the wonderful, natural dynamic that you two have.

What Shawn said. I don't want you to burn yourself out with extra work and I love listening to the two of you. Your shows always make me laugh out loud. I'll download and listen to whatever you put out.

BTW kudos for stepping up to make the show professional quality, Kris. Too often we cut corners in our personal lives. It feels good to use your skills to improve your OWN contributions, no?

So Kris-here's your (rare) chance to one-up Betsy. I was listening to archived episode on 8/3/05 and you called it dead on! You said Barack Obama was going to be the next Dem man in charge...nice call. Betsy called him the Tiger Woods of politics. Interesting...
