I am reminded of my high school hair style with the crimping iron. I can kind of see where it might be going, but then it didn't turn out that way. Nice cut if it's all smoothed out.

The hairstyle is not as bad as you made it sound. It's not great but it's not as bad as you'd made me imagine.

It does remind me of my one and only perm. On the day prior to my graduation from University in 1988, wilfully disregarding the advice of the hairdressing professional, I turned my long, thick, straight hair into what can only be described as a disaster. Imagine a 5'11" poodle with masses of tight, dark curls surrounding a pasty-white face (with only red eyes for colour) and an appearance of being incredibly surprised due to the fact that the perming solution made my bangs entirely disappear thereby displaying my amazingly high forehead. In the one remaining photo of this hair-styling travesty you can barely make out the mortar perched atop my massive, curly poodle-ness (like a thimble on a haystack).

This experience taught me a few things about life:

1) NEVER have a new hair-style within 4 weeks of a major life event

2) LISTEN to trained professionals when they say "I'd advise you not to do that"

3) It's not enough that YOU drink to forget YOUR troubles...you have to get everyone else drunk too so they can't remind you of your indiscretions at every subsequent family get-together.

The hair isn't all that bad.

I have actually thought about getting my hair permed recently, but after trying curly hair out on my mii, I decided against it.

Awww...Betsy, it really isn't THAT bad. It will loosen a bit after a couple days. What you need to do is get yourself a headband. NOT A BANANA CLIP! But a headband. They have ones now that look like silk scarves - very pretty and very EASY.

It's OK. Badhaircuts can happen to nice people. But hair will growout and revert to its natural state. Eventually.

Until then: headbands.

Your singing my song betsy. Except in my case, since i thought perms were out with the 80's, I fantasized that dreadlocks would be the ultimate worry-free hairdo (not entirely true).
Luckily, since I am averse to itchy head - i haven't gone through with it. But, since i have started growing out my bangs and coloring the front part of my head purple-eh-ish, my hair still looks like i don't care at all what i look like so long as I can get my crack.
Hmmm.... I should seriously consider a perm.

Straight up. I forgot one thing. I brought a picture of a streaky choppy girl i'd call cyberpunk to a hairdresser and he made me look like an upper-middle class suburban mom in Central Jersey. (And got a little too close to my chair where my hands were clasping the arms - EW!!!)

That was the last really bad haircut I got before I found a salon in my hometown with punked out hairdressers. I haven't had an appropriate cut since i left the area. So I just let it go....

Betsy and I both agree that the photo softened up her hair quite a bit.

After experiencing if first hand, it looks today, like it did 5 days ago in the photo.

Wow!! If we had any reservations about making the trip to Naperville, we certainly don't now. This turn of events will surely make our trip for the show all worth while!

I, for one, can't wait for the opportunity to poke fun of this hair "don't" first hand. ;)

Betsy´s hair isnt bad at all.. I kind of like it! I was expecting a bozo- do..I think she would look good with bangs though..

Margot, actually my wife thought Betsy's new do was pretty nice. I'm a big tease and all the drama associated with it afforded a great opportunity for some good-natured ribbing.

As someone who has struggled with curly hair all my life (I looked like Slash from Poison/Guns and Roses in high school) I have to agree with the person who suggested a head band. I buy the $1 kind at the craft store, roll it up and tie it in a circle and that's that. In the morning, hop out of the shower, pull on the headband and I'm good to go. I promise it's toddler proof - I take care of two.
