Um... Trying to listen via Stitcher Radio, but it totally isn't working. Tried multiple times. No dice. I can hear other shows, but not yours...

Check out New Fairfield CT. I was born and raised in Queens, NY and moved here in 2002. I love the small community and still have the ability to go into NYC for things like Doctors appointments (for my daughther who has several special needs) and entertainment and work (my hubby works down the block from yankee stadium).
It is a great little town with excellent schools and not the typical ct. attitude -- especially for fairfield county.

It stinks that you guys have to be thrown into the deep end with no warning. But it's awesome that you're reacting with action and planning.
Well, I live in southeastern NH and I love it. It's still relatively affordable (esp Rochester, Dover, Somersworth, Barrington, & Seabrook NH). A lot of folks commute to Boston, which is mainly where the good paying IT jobs are. (there are some good IT jobs in Manchester NH and north of Boston, but mostly it's Boston proper.) I'm not far from Portsmouth, which has a lot of great cultural activity - music, restaurants, etc. I work in IT, but in higher ed, so it's not great $ but a nice working atmosphere.
What's nice is you can take the commuter rail or downeaster train from most of southeast NH right into Boston. Email me if you are interested in exactly where we live, what cities are more affordable, etc.
Thinking of you guys and sending lots of support and love your way, Jen

Good luck in your time of transition. I would love for you guys to move to Boston, where I live, but I'm always complaining about how much it costs to live here.
Thanks for entertaining and keeping us in your lives even when it isn't all laughs and dairy snakes.

Come to Seattle! The job market is not being hit as hard here and a ton of jobs in the tech world. Also, the cost of living is lower than my favorite city, SF, but totally thriving...actually, it's almost like a clean version of SF. Oh, the housing market is still definitely a buyers market. Check out locations such as Wallingford (my neighborhood), Greenlake, Greenwood, Wedgewood, U District. Lots of great houses with basements...aka man pit. Oh, and Capital Hill is such a great neighborhood...not easy to find a house there but Besty can hang out with all of the gay guys. Good folks. Plus, Wreky is there! Hahahaha!
