Betsy, As far as your quest to find a doll that is not made in China... I have 3 words for you. "Hecho en Mexico". It may not be made in the USA, but it damn sure isn't China.

Hey - I live about 45 minutes from Apple Valley, want me to go check'em out for you? :-) I have never heard of dolls coming from their, but then again, I don't really pay much attention to dolls in general.

I was also going to suggest Etsy.com to Betsy for Made In America dolls It's a site for people who sell handmade things, but when I searched "baby doll" I found this: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=7967066
That would coordinate nicely with the plates.

Reactive, not proactive government...we have bought everything from China for years because its cheap, dont be mad at the Chinese, be mad at greedy toy companies that dont regulate their goods. Its a little late now to be boycotting those toys anyway, we grew up with that lead...People want whats cheap, whether its air travel, goods or services. Why blame the people producing if we keep buying?
