Betsy and her husband Kris October 09, 2006

The usual intro goes down like . . . usual
Kris points out his neglect of email this week, many apologies
Clipped fingernails and buttoning a shirt
Betsy gets right into why stress was permeating our day
Seeing people that you haven't seen in 5 years . . . like your parents can do it
The death of a brother's brother-in-law can make you do stuff
They are not inherintly evil people, just not good for us
How can you not talk to your parents? Easy
Let's move on and live our lives
It was awful
Where we left them five years ago they haven't moved from that spot
Socially every boundry we put they ignored
No more interventions, rehab or other visits for us . . . thank you
As soon as we walked through the door all gone
All they heard was . . . Betsy is an evil bitch and she is making me do this
The Don style
Setting the stage for this . . . maintaining my own life
What you share with kid
Putting my self in 6 year old shoes
This isn't a situation where you have to put your kids through this
How do you manage the situation
Betsy called her own get-up 'fag-hag' and my shirts gay . . . we're made for each other
Pre-setting boundries
Watching Elliot put up his own boundries with my momma
"You need to stop right now. I don't know you. I never see you. Don't kiss me."
Now we have prime example of "bubble"
Feeling like you are the adult when you are the kid
There was an out but I didn't think that it would float after more information
Back in our lives with nostalgia
The door opened to our lives the second we saw them
Siblings in the middle
It isn't 34 years of new stuff . . . 34 years of the same stuff from the beginning
Running off with that guy from rehab
Betsy isn't making that up
Betsy recounts her reasons for Slowsky love when compared to wanted a new ride
Escalade at garage sales versus Slowsky and UU's on Sunday

Kris if you want luxury and safety for your family and Betsy is set on a SUV. Take a look at the Volvo XC90. Here is a quote from edmunds.com

Safe as a bank vault, plush ride, feels smaller than it is, high-quality interior materials, ample cargo room.

I read somewhere this car has a titanium roll cage built in and a computer controlled anti roll system built in.

If not maybe you can find a like new Yugo.

That's a good point Russell. This all started by stopping by the Volvo dealer to get some paper work from them and seeing the demonstrator models with big discounts.

But maybe it is time to point Betsy back in this direction again. But a Yugo might suit her personality better ;-).

This is the first show I have listened to and think it's so funny. The family situation, come on your parents can't be that bad :) Your 6YO sounds just like my 8YO boy - a clever boy.
Hopefully I will sign up a few listeners for you.

Hey Paul, Thanks for the enthusiasm! We keep it as real as we can on the show.

We've said it a lot lately, but for us "Life is show prep".

After not speaking or seeing my folks for 5 years I can say . . . we were spot on during the show.

I wish I had a specific show to point you to but pick anything on our archive page from late '04 or early '05 and my bet is that you'll get more of the back story.

I just took a look at the database and it looks like you got some people sent over - sweet!

Betsy says, "Momma needs and Escalade".

Mr. B. says, "Momma needs and Escalade like Dennis Hastert needs another twinkie."

I kid, OneMan, I kid.

There are not too many GOPers OneMan can be next to that make OneMan look small. So I say bring on the twinkies.
